Dear Readers
In this blog I shall continue with my NYC discoveries regarding places to eat. After a full day of being a tourist in NYC, I wanted eat comfort food without being too adventurous and I came across this wonderful Italian restaurant which was just around the corner from my hotel.
The restaurant was called “Toscana 49” and it is located in 143E 49th St, New York, NY 10017, USA.
The elegance of the restaurant contrasts the buzzing New York streets. The staff is very welcoming and they really make sure that their guests are properly served. The restaurant size is small but the seating has been planned in such manner that it doesn’t look crowded.
Given the size of the restaurant, the menu is very extensive with ample of choices for vegetarians, non vegetarians and seafood lovers.
Once you have placed your order, they serve you with some complimentary home made bread along with a chilli oil dip.
For the drink, I had opted for the good old coke.
Since it was quite cold that day, hence for starters I had chosen Pappa al Pomodoro which is basically Tuscan bread and Tomato soup. It was priced as $9.
For the main I wanted something classic, hence I opted for Spaghetti Pomodoro which was spaghetti with tomato and basil and the dish was priced at $18.
The portion size was very decent and it was filling. Though the restaurant is bit on the pricier side but I guess you are paying for the location as well as the quality of food.
I would recommend this restaurant if you wandering on the streets of NYC and you are somewhere near the Grand Central Station.
Hope you enjoyed reading the blog.
Thanks xxx
