If you want to spend a nice chatty evening with friends, I feel Mediterranean / Turkish cuisine is one of the best options to go with as it promises a very chilled and relaxed type of meal.
In my recent trip to London, I went to this Turkish place with my brother and some friends and I felt that the place is worth mentioning in my blog.
The place is called GOKYUZU and it is located in 26-27, Grand Parade, Harringay , London, N4 1LG.
The place is very vibrant and gets quite busy over the weekends. We walked into the restaurant without any prior reservation but we got our table within 15 minutes considering that it was a Sunday and closer to the Christmas period. The service is very prompt and the staff is very friendly.
It has an open kitchen at the entrance where you can see the action in live and it’s very systematic and very clean.
The menu is very extensive having a good variety of options.
Each table is given a complementary house bread basket along with some salad and yogurt dip, which they would refill when asked.
For the starters we had ordered some hummus and a turkish pizza with minced lamb.
For the mains I had ordered the Chicken Shish which is skewered chicken breasts grilled over charcoal. The portion size was very generous as it came with some rice and a big green chilli.
Since we all were quite full from the main meal, we ordered a sharing portion of Baklavas for dessert.
The best part of the meal was the Turkish tea at the end. It was served in a cute Turkish saucer and cup.
I really enjoyed my experience of GOKYUZU and if you are a fan of that type of cuisine I would highly recommend that place.
