Recently I, along with my parents, was in Shanghai for work purpose and we chose to stay in the Marriott Shanghai in City Centre.

The hotel is drop dead gorgeous, having a huge lobby with a grand crystal chandelier. It looks very pristine and elegant. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and cooperative. The lobby has a huge seating area in order to cater to the large amounts of  their guests.

Since we were 3 people, we opted for a triple room which included a twin bed along with an extra bed and trust me despite having an extra bed, the room was still very spacious. It had a carpeted floor, a relaxing chair, a safe and a work desk.

The bathroom was also very spacious and it consisted of both – a shower cabin as well as a bath tub. The toiletries provided by the hotel consisted of the high quality Thann bath products.

As the name suggest the hotel is situated in the heart of the city and is walking distance from the Nanjing Street which is like Regent or Oxford street of Shanghai. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the People Square metro station. The locality of the hotel is very safe, convenient and very vibrant.

It has a Costa coffee and a McDonalds in the same vicinity along with many eating joints across the road. The hotel is walking distance from the New World Town Plaza and Raffles square shopping centre, M&M World and  Madame Tussauds museum.
