Who doesn’t want to look beautiful ?? And we girls take the help of make-up to enhance our beauty. Eye make-up forms an integral part of our appearance and in my opinion it is one of the hardest think to master. From matching the right to shades to one’s eye colour, along with mastering the art of blending the eye shadows together to get the perfect combination, takes a lot of practice and is very time-consuming.
However, the cosmetic industry has come a long way and is trying really hard to satisfy the consumers and make the products user friendly. One such invention that has made my life easier is the use of “Eye Shadow Sticks or Crayons”. Trust me when I say this that this is the quickest way to get the perfect eyes.
Over the past few months, I have invested a lot in these eye shadow sticks and I have not even one bit regretted my decision. The eye shadow sticks that I have so far tried are from Charlotte Tilbury (£19/$27) and Laura Mercier (£23/$29).
For the eye make-up to last longer, I always use the eye base so that the product can sit on it properly and it makes it easy to blend the eye shadows. The base that I use is the Estee Lauder Double Wear – Stay in Place Eye Shadow Base.
Through this post I will be sharing with you all my favourite colours for the eye shadow sticks. The major concern with an eye shadow stick or crayon is that the product sets quite fast, hence you need to work with it quickly, so that it blends properly to give you the perfect colour.
1. Charlotte Tilbury-Dark Pearl
It is in the form of a pencil crayon and you need to sharpen it as and when required. The Charlotte Tilbury range of eye shadow sticks have been divided based upon the eye colour and since I have brown eyes, the colour that goes for me is Dark Pearl. The shadow stick is very pigmented and a little bit of colour can go a long way.
2. Laura Mercier – Moonlight
The Laura Mercier eye shadow stick are in the form of twisty crayons. This colour is gorgeous. It a kind of shimmery champagne colour and looks beautiful when used both during day and night make-up.
3. Laura Mercier – Amethyst
This is a colour perfect for an evening occasion. It can give you an effortless smokey eye in the quickest time. The colour has a purple undertone to it but it blends beautifully.
4. Laura Mercier – Rosegold
As the name suggests, it is beautiful rosegold colour which looks gorgeous both during the day and night. This is the colour that one would use to have a day smokey-goldney eye. It complements nearly every skin tone.
5. Laura Mercier – Orchid
This is the most unusual colour in my eye shadow sticks collection. The other colours that I have are very universal and can be paired up with other eye shadows. But this is a very pinky colour, having a slightly lilac undertone to it. But it looks gorgeous when applied as a part of a day make up.
I have been using these products for quite some time now and have been very impressed by them. It blends very easily, the colour neither transfers nor it creases out. Its a great investment for some one who is an amateur at make-up or doesn’t have that much time to spend on it. I would highly recommend these.
